At the same time, ports went through distinct changes. Operations had to be streamlined because the number of objects transported was growing. Advanced management systems, supported by technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) and automation, made this feasible. These systems could track cargo in real-time, automatically schedule shipments, and ensure the quickest, safest handling of goods. The collaboration between smart ships and smart ports promised a maritime industry more responsive and efficient than ever before.
